Are you waiting for the Apple AirPower? The all-in-one wireless charging mat promised to charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods all at the same time. Unfortunately, Apple has scrapped this product. Fortunately, there are alternatives like the Mophie Wireless Charge Pad for instance.
The Mophie Wireless Charge Pad does everything the AirPower promised to do except for one thing. The AirPower was supposed to be a single flat surface that you can arbitrarily place your devices on. With the Mophie charger, there are specific spots on the pad for you to place your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods charging case.
If you can live with this minor quibble, we are pretty sure that you will be happy with the Mophie alternative. In fact, Apple likes it and gives it its stamp of approval by featuring the Mophie Wireless Charge Pad on the Apple website as well as on the shelves of their retail stores.
There are quite a number of alternative charging pads from other manufacturers but the Mophie pad does have a few advantages over the rest. For one, the watch charger is included with the pad. Some charging stands require you to place your own charger inside. For another, it supports 7.5W fast charging for the iPhone.
Many charging pads don’t even support Apple Watch charging. The reason for this is that wireless charging for the watch is not Qi based, but inductive. That means that 2 different wireless charging methods are required. Knowing this, we think it is a small price to pay to have a single device to charge all our essential Apple devices.
