LEDs has revolutionized lanterns used for camping. Gone are the days where you have to choose between a bright but bulky lantern or a light but dim one. Highly efficient LEDs has made it possible for highly portable lanterns that consumes minimal battery power. The LuminAID PackLite not only emits 130 lumens of warm LED light, the built-in rechargeable battery serves double duty as a power bank for charging your phone.
The LuminAid PackLite measures a portable 6″ x 6″ x 6″ cube but when fully collapsed, it takes up just 6″ x 6″ x 1″ of space. It weighs just 8.6 oz (243 g) and that includes the 2000mAh battery and the solar panel. The collapsed lantern takes up minimal space in your backpack or you can just hook it on the outside as it is rated IP67 – 100% waterproof and dustproof!
It has 5 different lighting modes. At its brightest setting, it is bright enough to read by. And at its lowest setting (15 lumens), you can get up to 50 hours of illumination on just a single charge. Once charged, you can store the LuminAid PackLite for months and the battery will still hold its charge. That makes it the perfect solution for home power emergencies as well. As mentioned earlier, you can use the lantern as a power bank to charge your phone and other USB powered devices. It should work with most if not all phones but with just a 2000mAh capacity, it won’t be sufficient to fully charge most phones.

The lantern requires minimal sunlight to start charging. With optimal sunlight, the battery fully charges within 12 hours. If that is too slow for you, you can always plug it into a power outlet. It only takes 2 hours to charge via USB.
The LumidAid PackLite is also available in the Super Charger version. This upgraded version emits a brighter light and comes with double the battery capacity. While it has the same dimensions, it is slightly heavier.
