While most kids will probably choose Emmet, Wildstyle and possibly even Batman as their favorite character from the Lego Movie. But for most of us at GetdatGadget, Benny the classic spaceman won our hearts hands down. If you had grown up playing (or for some of us, just drooling over) the classic space series from Lego, you’ll fall in love with Benny the instant you see him. How many of us can resist that familiar mini figure with that even more familiar cracked helmet?

I personally remember staring at the Lego catalog for hours and wishing for the space sets. We are eternally grateful to Lego for paying tribute to the classic Lego space series in the Lego movie. More importantly, we knew it was inevitable that Lego will release a set that features Benny’s spaceship from the movie. Never before have we been so happy to sit through an extended  toy advertisement. We were a bit disappointed when Benny’s spaceship was not part of the initial Lego sets based on the Lego Movie but we did find out that Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, Spaceship! will be released later.

Well, the time has finally arrived. Benny’s classic space inspired spaceship from the Lego Movie is here. This is a big set with 940 Lego pieces and 5 mini figures including Benny, Robo Emmet, Space Wyldstyle and Robo Pilot, plus an Astro Kitty figure. This will probably be one of the most popular if not the most popular sets from the movie and we think it will sell out pretty fast.
