The use of wireless technology like Bluetooth and WiFi makes it real easy to transmit music wirelessly. Gone are the days of hunting for the right cable and dealing with messy wires just to get your favorite music playing on your audio setup. However, if you still have older equipment that does not support wireless, you can now easily rectify this problem using a simple gadget like the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter.

Bluetooth adapters are not new. They have been around for quite sometime now. However, the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter is a little different because it combines both Bluetooth transmitter and receiver in a single device. That means that you can either use it with older speakers that don’t have Bluetooth support or with an older music player that lack wireless support.

There is a toggle switch that allows you to switch between the 2 modes. Other buttons on the fairly small device include volume control buttons and a multifunction button that is used for playing and pausing audio that also doubles up as a power button and a Bluetooth pairing button. There is also a micro USB port that is used for charging the device.

Attached to the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter is a non-detachable 3.5 mm audio plug. To use the device as an audio transmitter, just connect the plug to the headphone jack of the audio player and pair the device to a Bluetooth speaker. To use it as a receiver, just connect to a 3.5 mm Aux port on the speaker.

As with most Bluetooth enabled audio devices, maximum range is about 30 feet although in a standard environment, you should probably keep it to within 10 feet for best quality. For testing, we primarily used the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter in our car for playing music from a smartphone. It worked very well in this setup due to the close proximity between the transmitter (the phone) and the device that was acting as a receiver that was plugged into the Aux In port.

The phone that was used for testing was also connected to a Bluetooth multimedia controller at the same time. The phone had no problems connecting to both devices at the same time. We could change tracks and adjust volume using the controller while the music played without skipping a beat. There was also no issues with any of the devices losing connection. We also tested the transmitting function by playing music on a Bluetooth capable mini speaker and again we face no problems.

While the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter works fine both ways in our tests, there is one glaring flaw with the device. It has no audio input port on the device itself. That means that if you want to use it with a pair of wired headphones, you can’t. Not unless the headphones has some kind of aux input itself that you can plug the iPazzPort Bluetooth 2-in-1 Wireless Adapter into. It is possible to rectify this flaw by using a 3.5 mm female to female adapter though.
