Recently there has been a rush of smartwatch announcements. First, it was Samsung with its sequel to the Gear plus a few other wearable smart devices. Then both Google and LG announced that they are working on something. Now, it is Motorola’s turn with the announcement of the Moto 360 smartwatch.

Moto 360

Out of all the announcements, we must admit that we are most intrigue by the Moto 360 and ironically, it is because the Moto 360 looks more like a traditional wrist watch than a smartwatch. This is because the Moto 360 sports a circular, digital watch face with a relatively slim profile. This is the classiest looking smartwatch by far.

The Moto 360 is powered by Android Wear, Google’s new mobile operating system that is tailored for smartwatches and other wearable devices. Google Now plays a big role in Android Wear, intelligently serving up information as you need it and powering voice search. Just like its smartphone counterpart, you can trigger the voice search feature by saying “OK Google”.

The Moto 360 is expected to be launched this summer. It is expected to be available in a number of styles and a choice of leather or metal strap. Meanwhile, for more information and pictures, check out the Moto 360 site.
