Every once in awhile, we come across an oddball gadget that we cannot resist featuring on this site. This time, it is the Hiking Backpack Umbrella that caught our eyes. This amazing backpack does so much more than just having pop-up umbrella. It reminds of Inspector Gadget’s hat and all the gadgets that pop out from his head.

The backpack itself doesn’t look all that different from any regular hiking backpack. It is made from lightweight and breathable material. There are tons of pockets and compartments to stash all your travel or hiking gadgets.

The umbrella or shade is mounted on a collapsible handle, similar to the handle on a luggage bag. It is possible to reach back and deploy the umbrella while the backpack is on your back. With a little practice, it should take you just a few seconds. Similarly, the shade can be collapsed without removing the backpack. The entire umbrella mechanism can be detached from the backpack.

We are pretty sure that you will get many stares walking around with the Hiking Backpack Umbrella with the umbrella over your head. On the other hand, if you are using this for hiking in the wilderness, you will probably be safe.

The pop-up umbrella is not the only gadget this backpack features. There is an optional fan that can be mounted at the lower back. The fan provides extra relief from the sun on extra hot days.

The fan is powered by a rechargeable battery hidden in the collapsible handle. You can also use the battery to charge your portable devices. According to the product video, there is a version of the backpack that comes with a solar panels mounted on the top of the umbrella. We are not sure if this version of the backpack is available for sale.
