The Panasonic HX-A100 is a wearable camcorder similar to the GoPro Hero cameras. However, unlike the all-in-one GoPro, the Panasonic HX-A100 comes in two separate components, the camera itself and a small control box. The two components are connected together by a cable.

There are both pros and cons to this 2 component design. We liked the fact that the camera itself is really tiny and light at only 30 g. There is an option to mount the camera on a helmet and the Panasonic camera feels less conspicuous than other action cameras. Alternatively, you can wear the camera without a helmet mount using the included ear hook but we find that it looks a little awkward.

The controller is about the size of a pack of cards and is worn on the arm with the provided armband. However, the cable between the lens and the controller does get in the way and this where the single unit design is preferable. The camera is both waterproof and dust proof.

The Panasonic HX-A100 Wearable Camcorder makes an ideal camera for life blogging. It connects to both iOS and Android devices via WiFi and app allows for live broadcast. Captured images and videos can be viewed instantly via the free Panasonic Image App, even when you are recording. Alternatively you can set the camera to capture photos with gaps of 3, 5, 10, 30 and 60 seconds. Perfect for capturing your entire day on camera.
